Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP). The INPP, which worked from 31 december 1983 to 31 december 2009, had two of the world's largest reactors. It is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. During the construction of Ignalina NPP, was built 142 km of roads, 50 km of railway tracks, 390 km of communication, 334 km of electricity transmission and 133 km of sewerage lines, 164 km of heat network pipelines. The work involved 3544,000 m³ of reinforced concrete structures and 76,480 t of reinforcement.

Children and adults will be impressed by the huge complex of IAE buildings.

Information center exhibition

Visit the Information Center of Lithuania’s former nuclear power plant and start a unique journey through one of the most important parts of the country's energy history. It’s designed for everyone interested in exploring the country’s largest environmental project in the energy sector and learning more about the history of the nuclear power plant.

Visitors will discover a model of the reactor block, fuel assemblies and used nuclear fuel container models, radioactive waste storage models, a virtual reality tour, and an interactive educational game.

A minimum of 5 participants is required. Tours are free. Tours last approx. 1 hour.

Expedition inside the Ignalina nuclear power plant

Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant – a unique site that once housed two of the most powerful nuclear reactors in the world. Although the plant is no longer operational and is currently being dismantled, it remains an important historical and industrial landmark.

Visitors can choose from one of three available expeditions, each varying in difficulty and duration. Expeditions are held on Thursdays and Fridays, and are available in Lithuanian, English, or Russian. Only individuals aged 18 and over are allowed to participate, with a maximum group size of 15 people.

To get access permits for the nuclear facility, visitors must provide personal information (and present a valid identity document) and go through a strict security check
