13-14 June 2025:

• Photographer Andrius Surgailis' workshop ‘Capturing the essence of cities and nature through the lens’ - on how to convey space, mood and visual emotion.
• 4 thematic photography routes, accompanied by local guides and photographers:
• Nature photography during the ‘Golden Hour’ (up to 20 participants);
• Night Visaginas (up to 20 participants);
• Morning Nature Photography (up to 20 participants);
• Urban Visaginas (open to all);
• Excursion programme - including a visit to the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant and the IAE control panel simulator;
• Delicious meals: lunch, dinner, coffee breaks according to the programme;
• Accommodation for city guests in Visaginas Park;
• Photography competition - participants' entries will become the official postcards of Visaginas 50th anniversary!

On the celebration of Visaginas' 50th anniversary, we invite you to look at the city not only as an object for photography, but as a living community.

This event is an opportunity to get to know Visaginas on a deeper level, through creativity, communication and authentic places that locals see every day.

By taking part in this trip and competition:

• You will be part of a community where local and visiting photographers meet;
• You will experience the spirit of the city, from nature and architecture to energy heritage;
• You will gain practical knowledge through a photography workshop and plein-air sessions;
• You will have the opportunity to be seen - your photographs will be publicised and the best ones will be part of the city's anniversary

The event will take place in Visaginas on 13-14 June 2025 and will offer not only an interesting programme, but also a friendly atmosphere and a Visaginas’s community.

Friday 13 June 2025

• 17:30-18:00 - Arrival at the Visaginas Public Library (52 Taikos Ave.), welcome coffee;
• 18:00-18:30 - Opening of the event, presentation of the programme;
• 18:30-20:00 - Seminar by photographer Andrius Surgailis;
• 20:10-21:00 - Outdoor kitchen dinner;
• 21:00-23:00 - Nature photography during the Golden Hour;
• 22:00-00:00 - Night Visaginas.

Saturday 14 June 2025

• 5:00-7:00 - Morning nature photography
• 9:00-9:45 - Discussion of the programme parts over coffee at the Visaginas Public Library
• 10:00-13:00 - Urban Visaginas
• 13:00-14:00 - Lunch
• 14:00-15:00 - Excursion to Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant
• 15:30-16:30 - Tour of the IAE control panel simulator
• 16:30-17:00 - Discussion and closing of the event

How will the competition work?

• After the event, each participant will send 2 of his/her best photographs taken at the event.
• The 6 main prize-winning photographs "Nature" and "Urban" will be selected for creativity, emotion and composition and will become the postcards of Visaginas' 50th anniversary.
• There will also be 1 additional nomination:
• Social Media category - for the most active sharing of the event photographs to spread the word about Visaginas.
