GALA CONCERT – BALLET
The ballet celebration will bring together the pearls of classical ballet and contemporary choreographic miniatures. You are invited to a special gala concert marking the 100th anniversary of ballet in Lithuania.
Classical masterpieces and contemporary choreographic works will meet on one stage, offering the audience an opportunity to discover the history of Lithuanian ballet and experience its contemporary scene.
The evening will feature ballet virtuosos from Italy and France – Lorenzo Epifani and Marine Pontalier, legendary Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre artist Olga Konošenko, as well as Baltic Ballet Theatre soloists Pijus Ožalas and Evelina Fokina, alongside other performers.
The gala evening will be hosted by Marija Simona Smolskienė, founder of the Baltic Ballet Theatre, choreographer and former ballet soloist.
The programme will feature pieces from the first classical ballets created in Lithuania, dynamic excerpts, as well as fragments from contemporary ballet productions including “Another World”, “Vaiva’s Ribbon”, “Carmen”, “Aqua Corpo” and others.
This is more than a concert – it is a celebration of ballet inviting audiences to mark an important anniversary in Lithuanian cultural history. A dynamic and contrasting programme awaits, bringing together classical ballet, contemporary choreography and dancers from different generations.
