“ONOS” – Dance Performance

About the Performance

Four ONAs. Four invisible beams and crumbling floors. Four women shaping space and creating an architecture of bodies and relationships – fragile, rebellious and intimate.

In the performance, ONAs protest, wait, break the silence, reconcile, and endure. They collect details of untold stories and, through their bodies, allow what has remained unseen to return.

ONAs revive the vibrations of lost voices and (re)create the present.

The Idea

“ONOS” continues the line of dance archaeology. This time, the creators turn their attention to the world of Lithuanian manors and the everyday lives, experiences and destinies of the women who lived there.

Choreographers Agnija Šeiko and Lina Puodžiukaitė-Lanauskienė, together with the creative team, explore how silences, losses and interpretations of history have shaped our identity and erased or transformed the sense of belonging to a community.

In “ONOS”, the body becomes architecture. Movement connects space, its elements and the inner world of the individual. ONAs become a common denominator, attempting to gather fragments of a scattered and lost history and give a voice back to those who lived, live and will live.
