Ski trail opened in Visaginas under the project "Sustainable cross border cooperation for winter tourism development"

On January 17, 2026, the opening ceremony of the ski trail took place in the forest behind the Visaginas Engineering and Technology Training Center, bringing together enthusiasts of active leisure and winter sports. The event attracted participants not only from Visaginas, but also from other Lithuanian cities and neighboring Latvia. Participants had the opportunity to spend time actively in the fresh air, try out the track, and enjoy winter entertainment.
The renovated ski trail was completed as part of the international project "Sustainable cross border cooperation for winter tourism development" ("SnowPower"), which aims to promote an active lifestyle, winter sports, community involvement, and the development of inbound and local tourism in the region.
The opening took place in a cozy, community atmosphere – participants communicate, shared experiences, and enjoyed the opportunity to actively spend time together in the winter outdoors.
The opening of the ski trail was a significant step in strengthening the active leisure infrastructure in Visaginas.
The event was organized under the Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Program 2021-2027 project "Sustainable cross border cooperation for winter tourism development" SnowPower / No. LL-00123.
The project is co-financed by the European Union.
