This initiative brought together tourism specialists and municipal employees working in urban development, all striving to create favorable conditions for the growth of the tourism sector. During the first visit, representatives of the Visaginas Municipality Administration and the Visaginas Tourism Development Center visited Daugavpils. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the city’s tourism strategies, key attractions, and practical solutions that help Daugavpils strengthen its position as an attractive tourism destination.

On September 26, specialists from the Tourism and Communication Department of Daugavpils Municipality, together with staff from the Regional History and Art Museum and the School of Technology and Tourism Equipment, made a return visit to Visaginas. The visit showcased Visaginas’ tourism development directions, local initiatives, and solutions that contribute to shaping the city’s identity and attracting visitors. Both visits featured active discussions, exchanges of experience, and conversations about challenges and successful solutions in the tourism sector.

Such inter-institutional cooperation not only helps generate new ideas but also creates a solid foundation for continued partnership between the cities. This initiative reflects an important trend in contemporary urban policy – regional cooperation, knowledge and best practice exchange, and the aspiration to grow together.
